Hello 8th grade families!
Just a friendly reminder that the PTA is still collecting dues to support 8th grade activities – which means warm weather is on the horizon! Help support the traditions that make 8th grade unforgettable, including:
- Class Trip in the spring
- Graduation gear and keepsakes
- Special 8th grade activities and celebrations
- A send-off worthy of our amazing students
Thanks to everyone who has contributed, but if you haven’t there is still time. We are asking each family who is able to consider a donation of $240.
If you have made an installment, now is the time for the next one!
Payment options include:
- One Time: Make a one time payment of $240 for your MS 839 8th grader.
- Four Installments: You are welcome to pay over time! We are set up for 4 installments of $60.

2025-2026 PTA WELCOMES YOU!
Dear Families,
We are thrilled to welcome you to a new school year at MS 839! Whether your child (or children) may be new to the school or returning to a higher grade, we look forward to a very exciting and promising year with them. We also want to clarify that, while our name specifically says “parent,” anyone who is a guardian of an MS 839 student is already a member of the PTA. Together we will help each other to accomplish the aspirations of our families and the vision of our school and community.
PTA General Meetings: We will host PTA general meetings every 3rd Thursday of the month unless there is a holiday or a school event. Please look for announcements about upcoming meetings and other school events in your email. If you have not already done so, please share your email with your child’s Crew Leader or with our Parent Coordinator and opt in to school and PTA emails. Please also feel free to contact us directly at any time. Contact information is below.
Ways to Contribute
The PTA raises funds for expenses at the school that serve all students. Please be on the lookout for our 2025-2026 Annual Fundraising Appeals. Please know that you are a critical part of our MS 839 community and there are SO MANY ways you can participate: Attending school EVENTS (potlucks, dances, PTA meetings); VOLUNTEERING for an event or committee; DONATING to fundraisers; and most importantly doing the nonstop but rewarding work of PARENTING.
